I am INFP, he's ENTJ... He's my best friend and provides a balance. I feel like a truer version of myself, not just a part or a piece. With him, I complete me... So there is more of me to be, give, share, experience...

I am an INFJ/P (very low on the J) who married and divorced an ENTJ. Several huge surprises were revealed to me post wedding. He turned out to be a partner abuser and a severe alcoholic. Tragically I had to divorce when my child was 2 years old. I was the third wife. I really don't believe that my ex will ever be loving or emotionally healthy enough with any person. If he was healthier, who knows, may have worked out fine. The marriage counselors we saw for several visits ( who were ENFP and ENFJ ) thought close relationships work best with more traits in common. I have to agree with this, so far. I also think it takes at least a couple of common passions or interests. I am 45 now, still single, but don't plan on it forever. It's just much harder to search while starting a new career and with a child. For now friends are enough. Peace and love be with you. Julie

I have been in an on-off relationship with what I'm pretty sure is an ENTJ for years now. We've recently started an "on phase" again after what I was sure was going to be our last time around. A year went by without speaking, we got back in touch, and I'm very pleased with the changes I've seen. He went to therapy, dealing with a lot of emotional stuff he had in the closet and was just repressing and covering up (those T's..). I'm an XNFP, and we get along perfectly, especially now. I had dated another INFP, and am good friends with an INFJ, kindof friends with an ENFP (too out of control for me), and my sister is an ENFJ (too much J for me). So I feel like I have a pretty good idea of what the other NF types are like, and I definitely feel more of a spark with the NTs. While I am sensitive, I have a playful teasing side and I love that I can poke fun at the ENTJ, who can appreciate it. They have a wonderful sense of humor, and it's nice to slip from a serious conversation into the silly. They're grounded and directed. It's taking some time for me to be able to speak very bluntly with him and not be concerned for his feelings, but he encourages me to, and we end up in some very honest and interesting conversations. They are concerned with doing what's "right", which an NF can appreciate, and they have a genuine sensitive side for meaningful things. If you can find an ENTJ without an enormous ego (mine's was huge for a while) and has been tempered with a Feeling side, it's lovely!

I am a femail ENTJ with a male INFP, a very strange combo from what i can tell. we certainly have issues, but my INFP is very understanding of my personality. I kind of started the relationship explaining that this is how my personality works, and i am not going to change (lesson learned from previous experience) He still sometimes gets hurt by my bluntness, but he knows it is not personal. When we work on projects, i often boss him around, and tell him his way is crazy, and he just takes it. i feel bad about it, but we work ok together. this is maybe not the best advice for you, he deals with me by putting up with me being blunt, bossy and always right. i honestly dont know how he does it. good luck. be understanding, if he says or does something that hurts your feelings, he probably has no idea, and didn't mean to.
